Margaret Carlson

Margaret Carlson writes TIME's weekly "Public Eye" column, focusing on politics, economics, social issues, and world affairs. Her broad range of issues is reflected in recent columns on Colin Powell, the "Gingrich Revolution," the O.J. Simpson trial, and the Million Man March. Carlson is also a regular panelist on CNN's popular public affairs television show, The Capital Gang. One of Washington's most respected journalists, Ms. Carlson was TIME's White House Correspondent during the first year of the Clinton Administration and wrote numerous cover story articles for the magazine, including the story on President Clinton in TIME's 1992 Man of the Year issue.
