Robert J. Sternberg, PHD

Robert Sternberg is a professor at Yale University and author of the groundbreaking new book Successful Intelligence. The concept of successful intelligence contrasts with the more narrow academic intelligence measured by IQ tests and other standardized examinations. Sternberg's work has important implications for business: successfully intelligent people maximally capitalize on their strengths, and find ways around their weaknesses. Supervisors can develop successful intelligence in their employees, just as parents can develop it in their children. Sternberg is also co-author of Defying the Crowd: Cultivating Creativity in a Culture of Conformity. In his lectures and consulting work, he helps both educators and business leaders to develop creativity and effectively assess its growth.
