Summary:
Leading Authorities Inc., one of the nation’s most prominent speakers bureaus with unique capabilities in lecture representation, video, event production, and entertainment, seeks an experienced Controller to lead our accounting department.
Responsibilities:
The Controller reports directly to the President and is responsible for all aspects of the accounting department including financial reporting, supervising five staff members, full cycle accounting, and Human Resources. The Controller also serves on the company’s executive team and contributes to the overall management of the business. Duties include:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial management reports including internal and external financial statements, budgets, and financial forecasts
- Develop and maintain financial accounting processes, policies, and controls
- Manage A/R, A/P, payroll, G/L, bank reconciliations and collections
- Coordinate completion of annual audits
- Oversee tax return preparation compliance
- Manage cash flow and financial instruments to optimize rate of return on investments
- Manage relationship with outside auditors, commercial bankers, insurance brokers, and building management
- Assist in annual business planning and budgeting process
- Supervise all aspects of the Human Resources department including recruitment, benefits administration, 401(K) plan management, reporting compliance, and handling staff evaluations/terminations
- Manage office operations including oversight of administration personnel
- Complete special projects, analyses, and other duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business
- CPA
- MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory accounting experience, experience as CFO or Controller preferred
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and propose solutions to financial and analytical problems
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and possessing the desire to work collaboratively and contribute in a team environment
- Must demonstrate ability to coach, guide, develop, and support internal staff in a high-pressure, fast-paced work environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and a proven ability to establish positive relationships with senior management and outside audiences
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Experience with Microsoft Great Plains (or similar accounting platform)
- International business experience preferred

We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented accounts receivable accountant to join our busy accounting department. EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS ARE A MUST! This position will perform a wide variety of AR and general accounting functions such as:
- Enter, code and send invoices
- Prepare and enter cash receipts
- Make daily bank deposits utilizing check scanner system
- Reconcile bank account on a daily basis
- General ledger coding
- Ensure timely collection of receivables
- Update management regarding A/R status and issues on a timely basis
- Provide excellent customer service
- Online vendor payment setup for new and existing clients
- Process credit card transactionsOther duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business

The Sales Associate will assist in managing client relationships, performing outbound calling and prospecting work, scheduling meetings, maintaining the customer database, preparing value proposition analyses and closing sales. The Associate will work collaboratively and strategically with the MoeryLAI team to define and identify target markets and build the prospect universe.

Required Skills/Experience:
