LAI In the Community

Contributing to the Community

In addition to being a leading business communications firm, Leading Authorities is proud to contribute to the community in many exciting ways. Members of our senior staff sit on the boards of many philanthropic organizations including, The Catalogue for Philanthropy and SOME (So Others Might Eat). Please see below for recent projects that Leading Authorities has been involved in:

SOME (So Others May Eat)
Leading Authorities supports SOME, an interfaith, community-based organization in the District of Columbia that offers a comprehensive approach to caring for the homeless and extremely poor citizens of our city, by contributing production services, speakers and entertainment services. Catalogue for Philanthropy promotional video
Leading Authorities is a proud sponsor of the Catalogue for Philanthropy. In efforts to help raise awareness and promote a philanthropic dialogue, Leading Authorities' production house created a promotional video for the organization. The video will be used to tell the organization’s story and stimulate corporate sponsorship throughout the DC community.

Making Connections to Great Causes
LAI is pleased to represent Jim Donald, the former CEO of Starbucks. When Rainey Foster, LAI partner and Executive Vice President, mentioned that a friend stationed in Afghanistan was missing his favorite coffee, Jim jumped into action. 13 cases of Starbucks Via soon arrived at Bagram Air Base for the troops. Thanks Jim!

In appreciation of moderator Meryl Comer’s participation in the event and in recognition of her continued dedication to Alzheimer’s research, Leading Authorities contributed $10,000 to help fund the National Alzheimer’s Association’s research efforts. Leading Authorities also presented bestselling author and Holocaust survivor Gerda Weissmann Klein, with a donation for the Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center a nonprofit, community-based organization in Phoenix, Arizona, dedicated to research, education and resources for individuals with autism spectrum disorders and their families.

Bright Beginnings:
In the spirit of the holiday season, Leading Authorities made a donation to the Bright Beginnings child development center in Washington, DC.
