Black History Month
College and universities begin looking for their speakers for Black History Month far in advance. Below we have great suggestions for your line-up that will make this year's recognition of Black History Month the most memorable experience your campus has seen yet.
- Al Sharpton: One of the nation’s most renowned civil rights activists, Al Sharpton’s oratory skills are legendary. He continues to have an impact on national politics, and he presents a unique perspective on current events of the day.
- Donna Brazile: A veteran political strategist, Donna Brazile was the first African-American woman to manage a presidential campaign, for Al Gore in 2000. She offers a comprehensive picture of the political environment and gives an original perspective on the trends shaping and driving the mood of the country.
- Marc Morial: Entrepreneur, lawyer, legislator, two term mayor of New Orleans, and current president of the National Urban League, Marc Morial has a 25 year distinguished professional career. His presentations on leadership, management, and urban development are filled with real-life war stories and case studies.
- Rodney Slater: The former Secretary of Transportation, Rodney Slater’s bipartisan approach to problem-solving earned him tremendous respect and admiration on both sides of the aisle.
- Ron Christie: A political analyst and former special assistant to George W. Bush, Christie is the author of Acting White: The Curious History of a Racial Slur, out on October 12. Years of experience in political strategy, public policy, and international affairs, Christie brings a unique perspective to the historical, cultural, and political implications of the current environment.
- Amy Holmes: Holmes offers a unique look into both the future of American politics under, the Congressional leadership, and all the current hot-button issues—and what it all means for the American people.
