The Event: Global Industrial Firm's Leadership Conference
The Challenge: Our client, a global industrial firm, was looking to achieve leadership cohesion, create a shared vision and strategy, and build a sense of urgency for organizational transformation.
The Solution: Leading Authorities approached the challenge by running three executive leadership sessions, followed by an event design workshop, to drill down into the client’s objectives. The Leading Authorities team used audience response systems (ARS) to get anonymous and authentic responses to potentially sensitive questions. The results were illuminating and allowed the team to recognize the work that needed to be done. For example:
- Only 26% of senior management agreed that they had strong relationships with their top customers.
- Only 27 % of senior management agreed they had a clear solution for the impact and commoditization for their business.
The Results: As a result of the leadership sessions, the event design workshop, and the ARS responses, LAI helped the client create an event plan for their leadership conference:
- Use the event as a change catalyst.
- Stress topics of accountability, alignment, and action
- Continue to use audience response systems to get real-time feedback from the audience
- Employ an on-site writer to draft audience response questions based on the changing narrative of the event
- Use before and after ARS to measure the value and relevancy of the event
The event now had a blueprint, and everyone was on the same page. Speeches, breakout sessions, and workshops were customized to address the client’s goals. There was a cohesive theme running through the event, allowing attendees to get stronger takeaway.
The client proclaimed their leadership donference a huge success. The ARS results said it all:
- Before the meeting, 63% of attendees believed they had a clear process to impact and influence the 11,930 colleagues that were not present at the conference
- After the meeting, 100 % of attendees believed they had a clear process to impact and influence the 11,930 colleagues that were not present at the conference
