An entertaining duo, Brzezinski is the Democrat to her partner Joe Scarborough’s Republican.

A 2010 follow-up article praised Brzezinski and Scarborough’s natural repartee and off-the-cuff commentary. Both have had success outside of the show, as well. Brzezinski is the author of two best-selling books, Knowing Your Value and All Things At Once. Prior to joining Morning Joe in 2007, she worked at CBS and MSNBC. She was an anchor of the CBS Evening News Weekend Edition and frequently contributed to CBS Sunday Morning and 60 Minutes. After moving to MSNBC, Brzezinski anchored the Up to the Minute news and primetime newsbreaks during the week, filling in on MSNBC Live weekdays and on the weekends.

Scarborough made a name for himself in politics long before he became a nationally recognized media force. He was elected to Congress in 1994, the first Republican to do so in Florida since 1872. He has also published two critically-acclaimed books, Rome Wasn’t Burnt in a Day and The New York Times best-selling The Last Best Hope: Restoring Conservatism and America’s Promise. In 2003, Scarborough joined MSNBC as the host of Scarborough Country, a primetime news show the San Francisco Chronicle called “must-see TV.”
