In addition to his time as undersecretary, Ambassador Nicholas Burns served as the U.S. ambassador to both NATO and Greece. He is also the professor of the practice of diplomacy and international politics at Harvard’s Kennedy School and one of America’s top foreign policy experts. He is viewed as one of the most articulate spokespeople on globalization and U.S. foreign policy. During his 27-year career in the state department, Burns played a key leadership role in foreign policy toward the Middle East, Europe, and South Asia.
