Celebrated Political Humor Troupe
Lies, theft, obstruction of justice... and that's just the Senate! The Nation's Capital is also the home of Gross National Product, the comedy group which Fodor's has picked as DC's comic monument, who turns this morning's headlines into this evening's punchlines. Gross National Product has been in the political funny business since 1980 with hilarious fast-paced revues such as "Man Without A Contra" (1987), "BushCapades" (1988), "Clintoons" (1992), "A Newt World Order" (1994), "GNP: On The Dole" (1996), "Hell to the Chief" (1997) "All the President's Women" (1999), and most recently "Son of a Bush." The Wall Street Journal calls Gross National Product "...a comedy feast." And the Washington Post dubbed GNP "...always funny, a brisk merger between Firesign Theater and the original cast of Saturday Night Live... the longest running, most successful sketch troupe in DC, keeping you grinning from year to year." In 1988 Gross National Product created what Peter Jennings of ABC News calls "a worm's eye view of Washington" with Scandal Tours", the latest in entourtainment!
