Bob Goldfarb

Management Coach

Bob Goldfarb

From front line managers to the executive suite, Bob Goldfarb helps people find success by avoiding behavior which can end a promising career. For more than thirty years, he has coached managers throughout the world, with the goal of helping bright, hard working employees reach their true potential. Goldfarb's hands-on research of behaviors to embrace, and behaviors to avoid, has led to a new book, What's Stopping Me From Getting Ahead?, to be released in June 2010. In the book, and in his keynotes and workshops, Goldfarb helps answer the question of why some employees are promoted while others of far greater talent are either fired or left behind, wondering "Why not me?" He cautions that no job is safe in today's fragile economy, and employees must avoid the mistakes that can have their employer reaching for the resume pile. With passion and a unique story telling ability, Goldfarb uses case studies from his vast pool of clients to illustrate the pitfalls that prevent an otherwise strong employee from succeeding. Each session includes specific action steps that will help attendees get ahead, as well as the 12 small missteps that stop forward momentum.

The Importance of Mentors. Stemming from his own history with influential mentors, Goldfarb maintains that having a good coach in your corner can make an enormous difference. His commitment to mentoring, and the goal of helping good people succeed at their jobs has contributed to his study of management and workplace behavior. Goldfarb has written on managing in a changing society for the op-ed pages of The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and for Readers' Digest. In addition, he has worked on instructional videos with Donald Trump and other entrepreneurs. Prior to founding his consulting firm, Goldfarb served in line and staff positions at AT&T, Mobil Oil Corporation, Hofstra University, and the National Urban Coalition. He graduated with honors from Columbia University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and holds an M.A. from New York University.
