From 1992-1996 he represented the Covey Leadership Center - teaching Dr. Stephen Covey's Seven Habits of Highly Effective People to clients.  

Jim is the former leader of the fiscally responsible Green Party of Canada. Under his leadership the party increased voter support, membership, potential voter pool and budget 7X, 14X, 45X and 100X respectively over a three and a half-year period, to a point where in 2006, 35% of all Canadian voters were considering voting Green and 20% say they are likely to vote Green.  

Jim earned his BA at Queen's University, has lived and worked in Europe, Australia and Canada.
