"How did a kid from Buffalo become part of the Republican Revolution? I have a great front row seat in politics." Maria Cino
Maria Cino

As president and CEO of the 2008 Republican National Convention, Maria Cino led the committee on arrangements with organizing, managing, and producing the historic quadrennial convention. She oversaw a $125 million budget and 10,000 volunteers to put together the four-day event. From her time as a sixth-grade canvasser in grass-roots campaigns to her college internship in Washington, DC, she infuses every speech with her lifelong passion for politics. Informed, experienced, and connected, Cino gives an inside account of what it takes to be a successful leader. Exclusively represented by Leading Authorities speakers bureau, Cino draws from her decades of experience in senior level positions in the executive and legislative branches of government to speak about the elections process, the ins and outs of running a political campaign, and the future of the Republican Party.

Building a political foundation. In addition to her government service, Cino's political experience includes a number of senior level strategic positions to round out her extensive and broad-based network of relationships across federal, state, and local government, including deputy chairman of the Republican National Committee.

In his first term, President George W. Bush appointed Cino assistant secretary and director general of the United States and Foreign Commercial Service. In this capacity, she managed a worldwide organization responsible for connecting small and medium-sized businesses with export opportunities and protecting all United States businesses overseas.

Managing the playing field. In 2007, she founded the strategic public affairs firm Cino & Company, which manages and guides field-based organizations, develops complex budgets, establishes and carries out short-term and long-term strategic goals, builds coalitions, and motivates and mentors staffers.

Before establishing Cino & Company, Cino was confirmed and served as deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation in May 2005 through March 2007. During that time she also served as the acting secretary of Transportation.

Maria Cino describes how the Republican Party needs to return to basics and focus on the Contract with America to succeed, and she shows audiences how geography and money play key roles in elections. Her presentation is honest, inspiring, and one of the most up-to-date accounts of the current political scene.
