Sondra Thiederman

Dr. Sondra Thiederman is one of the nation's leading experts on workplace diversity and cross-cultural business. As President of Cross-Cultural Communications, a San Diego based training firm, Thiederman has 25 years of experience as a speaker, trainer, and author helping organizations and professionals understand and successfully navigate our increasingly diverse global marketplace.  Dr. Thiederman is represented for lectures by Leading Authorities, Inc., based in Washington, D.C.

Since receiving her doctorate from UCLA in cross-cultural studies, Sondra Thiederman has helped hundreds of organizations develop practical, tangible solutions to their cross-cultural and diversity challenges.  Dr. Thiederman has honed a professional philosophy guaranteed to bring real value to her clients including such leading firms as American Medical International, Marriott Corporation, Century 21 Real Estate, American Express, the Federal Reserve Bank, Motorola, and AT&T. Her first book, Profiting in America's Multicultural Marketplace: How to Do Business Across Cultural Lines, was named Best Business Book of the Year by the Library Journal.  She has also written Bridging Cultural Barriers for Corporate Success, and Getting "Culture Smart": Ten Strategies for Making Diversity Work and Profiting in America's Multicultural Marketplace. Sondra Thiederman's latest book, Making Diversity Work: Seven Steps for Defeating Bias in the Workplace, offers practical ways everyone can be more aware of their biases, stereotypes and negative attitudes. It's essential, that everyone, from low-level employee to executive, be more mindful of diversity in order to communicate more effectively, manage others and be more successful at work.  Dr. Thiederman offers concrete steps for all employees to combat biases at the office.
