Leading Authorities hosted the 5th annual Women on the World symposium at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on April 2.

Leading Authorities is proud to sponsor Charlie Wilson for the National Business Travel Association Travel Forum in Atlanta, Georgia on June 6, 2008. Charlie Wilson served as the Democratic United States Congressman from District Two in Texas from 1973 until 1997. He, with the help of many others, helped bring down the communist government in Russia by supplying millions of dollars to the Afghan Mujahideen to beat the soviets in Afghanistan. His story is the subject of the book Charlie Wilson's War By George Crile III. Now the story has been turned into a major motion picture.

Leading Authorities is proud to sponsor Terry Savage, personal finance expert, on June 25, 2008 for Destination Marketing Association International's Destinations Showcase in Chicago. Terry Savage is a nationally known expert on personal finance and a regular television commentator on issues related to investing and financial markets. She has years of experience, serving on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (NYSE) and previously on the boards of McDonald's Corporation and Pennzoil-Quaker State Corporation. Her syndicated personal finance column for The Chicago Sun-Times is read in newspapers across the country.

When director Lucy Walker's film Blindsight premiered last April at the National Geographic Society in Washington, D.C., it warmed the hearts of those fortunate to secure a ticket. A year and several screenings across the world later, the documentary about Leading Authorities speaker Erik Weihenmayer's historic climb to the summit of Mount Everest with a group of blind children has also earned acclaim from the nation's top critics.
