Senator Bennett was at the forefront of health care reform and a member of the Joint Economic Committee, where he was at the center of economic policy discussions. He worked to get the economy back on track by focusing on Social Security and health care reform, authoring a highly-praised bill on Social Security. Before he ran for office, Bob Bennett was also a successful entrepreneur.
