Discussion Of Election's Most Important Economic And Business Factors
WASHINGTON, DC, OCTOBER 2, 2012 –
On October 9th, Leading Authorities hosted and produced a special presentation that featured powerful business leaders discussing the most important business factors of the upcoming 2012 elections: the U.S. economy, the fiscal cliff, and our path ahead.
The latest installment of our “Conversations with Power” series included:
- Tom Donohue, the president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber;
- Governor John Engler (R-MI), the president and CEO of Business Roundtable;
- Jay Timmons, the president and CEO of the National Association of Manufacturers; and
- Matt Shay, the president and CEO of the National Retail Federation.
The discussion was moderated by Katty Kay, the lead anchor of BBC World News America.
With the 2012 election less than a month away, it is more critical than ever that as a nation we have the difficult discussions about where our economy is heading versus where we want to be in the future. President Obama and Mitt Romney both offer solutions to these problems, and our illustrious panel will discuss their differing approaches to the economy and how their policies will affect issues like the business environment, growth rates, and taxes. The panel laid out a roadmap of how to get our country’s economy back on track.
The panel was livecasted over the web. Members of the media could watch online or in person. Leading Authorities produced this event at the Newseum’s Knight Studio located at 555 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC, 20001.
