Sergeant Dakota Meyer Joins LAI For Exclusive Lecture Representation

WASHINGTON, DC, SEPTEMBER 30, 2011 –

Leading Authorities speakers bureau is pleased to announce exclusive representation of Sergeant Dakota Meyer, a United States Marine Corps veteran and the recipient of the Medal of Honor, the military’s highest honor, for his actions in Afghanistan.

“We are proud and honored to represent Sergeant Dakota Meyer. He really is a true American hero – even though he would tell you otherwise. Our clients will be inspired by his bravery and courage and the stories and lessons that he will share,” said Mark French, president of Leading Authorities, Inc.

To earn the Medal of Honor, Meyer helped save the lives of 13 American and 23 Afghan troops and found the bodies of his four missing comrades. He awarded the medal by President Barack Obama at a White House ceremony on September 15, 2011. Meyer is the first living Marine to receive the medal since 1973 and one of the youngest. In his presentations, he addresses inspiration, courage, leadership, believing in yourself, doing what is right, and what happened that day in Afghanistan.

General James F. Amos, the 35th commandant of the Marine Corp, said, “Sergeant Meyer embodies all that is good about our nation’s Corps of Marines. He is a living example of the brave young men and women whose service, fidelity, and sacrifice make us so proud. Sergeant Meyer’s heroic actions…serve as an inspiration to all Marines and will forever be etched in our Corps’ rich legacy of courage and valor.”

Sergeant Dakota Meyer joins an exclusive roster that features such prominent military figures as General Stanley McChrystal (former commander of U.S. and international forces in Afghanistan) and General James Jones (former supreme allied commander Europe and the former national security advisor).
