Chris Cassidy

Speaker talks about motivation and the importance of effective leadership, consider Chris Cassidy

"Everything I’ve been involved in has been a team sport, so to speak. In the SEALs, you’re surrounded by your platoon mates, and it’s also your teammates alongside you on a space mission. That’s the crew you’re with. You’re all trying to reach the same goal —so the team nature of it is, you don’t want to be the one who lets your team down."

A decorated veteran of the sea, air, land, and outer space, Captain Chris Cassidy is among the leaders of an exclusive and distinguished group of accomplished military astronauts who have made an impact on and beyond this world. Recognized for his leadership and achievements as a United States Navy SEAL and a NASA astronaut, CAPT Cassidy’s various military deployments and spaceflight missions provided the catalysts for an action-packed career where he made the most of every opportunity presented to him, even in challenging and high-stakes environments.  |  See Chris Cassidy's speaker profile.

Harris Jr. oversaw all military operations for more than half of the world’s geography as Commander, U.S. Pacific Command (USPACOM). Widely regarded for his leadership, Amb. Harris was selected to serve by two presidential administrations – first to lead in one of the military’s most challenging roles at a critical time when the U.S. confronted the rise of new world powers and nuclear threats, and later as U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Korea.  |  See Harry Harris' speaker profile.

"As leaders, as captains, as officers, if you keep your head, they'll keep their head. If you keep it together, they'll keep it together. And if you lose it, they'll lose it.So I'm going to share with you the best thing I learned as a master chief when I was a new guy from a master chief in Vietnam: Calm is contagious."

Denver’s 14-year military career began following a standout college lacrosse career at Syracuse University, where he was a two-time Division I National Champion, team captain, and All-American. Upon completion of Navy SEAL training, he held several leadership roles in which his teams looked to him to make quick – and often difficult – decisions where the lines between success and failure were paper-thin. rom sniper operations and direct assaults to special reconnaissance and ground patrols, Denver’s teams are credited with sparking the “Tribal Awakening,” which was so vital in helping to neutralize Iraq’s insurgency. But when a team can see their progress, it will propel them to push harder."

Over the past 25 years of leading US Navy SEALs as well as corporate businesses, Alden Mills has failed more times than he has succeeded. He used his lessons learned from dramatic failures to remarkable successes to create a process for succeeding.
