Matthew Griffin Releases New Book, Steps Ascending: Rise of the Unarmed Soldiers

This past month, Mathew “Griff” Griffin, a Top 100 Global Visionary and CEO of Combat Flip Flops, published Steps Ascending: Rise of the Unarmed Forces. This incredible true story portrays how one soldier suits up, not with guns and camouflage, but with flip flops and a dream.

Rise of the Unarmed Forces takes us through not only Griff’s life but the failures and successes of Griff’s business. With four tours, one in Iraq and three in Afghanistan, he witnessed the ineffectiveness of war and the efficiency of education and jobs and decided to make a difference.

The former Army Ranger talks honestly and openly about how he overcame obstacles, such as starting up a million-dollar company, managing international manufacturing systems and product distribution, and running the marketing and promotion that would eventually lead to the success of Combat Flip Flops.

Griff gave a very moving Tedx Talk that revealed his perseverance and motivation to make his dream come true. 

In February of 2016, an episode of Shark Tank aired that would change Combat Flip Flops forever. The company got backed by three sharks, Mark Cuban, Daymond John, and Lori Grenier.
