Happy Pre-Thanksgiving! This is the last edition of The Circuit until after Turkey Day. I’m personally so thankful for all of our subscribers and readers. As my team and I have been prepping for parties and get-togethers, we truly have a lot to be thankful for—including the opportunity to work in such an interesting and fun business with smart and talented colleagues and clients!

Thankful for Love

In August, Harvard Business Review revealed that one in every 50 travelers has met their soulmate onboard an airplane. And here is the story of one of those couples! Our friend, former White House Press Secretary and Fox News host Dana Perino met her husband Peter by chance on a flight from Denver to Chicago. Of seeing him board the plane, Perino says she thought, “Oh, he’s cute, he’s not wearing a wedding ring, and he has a British accent.” It’s such a sweet story with great video of the happy couple; click over see how they reconnected when the flight was over.

Over Veterans Day, Fox News aired “Modern Warriors” profiling 4 military heroes. Featured in the program were Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer, and Navy SEAL operator Rob O’Neill. The two joined the conversation to trade stories of combat and brotherhood and express why they made the decision to serve.

As legendary former director of communications for Harley-Davidson Ken Schmidt always says, “What do you want people to say about you? And how do you get them to say it?” In his brand new book Make Some Noise, Ken shares his adventures working with the team at Harley to turnaround the struggling brand. Expanding on his principle of “Brain = Pain,” Schmidt explains why many companies are struggling to connect in an emotional way with their consumers and how that kind of noise is the most valuable.
