New Book on Teamwork, Determination from World Record Holder
World Record Holder Mick Dawson is one of the most experienced and successful ocean rowers in the world. His new book Battling the Ocean in a Rowboat: Two Men Cross 7,000 Miles of the North Pacific, is out next week and tells his incredible story of determination and teamwork.
Along with his rowing partner, Mick manned the only rowing boat to cross the North Pacific from Japan to San Francisco—an epic journey that took 189 days and covered nearly 7,000 miles. In speeches, Mick covers all the obstacles they ran up against plus how they found the will to never give up, including:
- Heart-pounding stories of run-ins with bad weather and big animals
- How they pushed past physical and mental exhaustion
- Why it’s so important to stop viewing ambitions as “dreams” and instead as “goals”—working towards them one day at a time
Mick’s presentation is visually stunning—he has images from the entire journey that bring it to life. He is also very charismatic, hilarious, and humble.
