Adam Kingl: Generation Y

description
In this video, Executive Director of the London Business School, Adam Kingl, starts by explaining who Generation Y is - people born on or after 1980. Through a survey of Generation Y, Kingl gained interesting insights on their meaning of work and their meaning of leadership. Only 5% of Generation Y plans to stay with a company longer than 11 years, 5% said they would stay with a company for 6-10 years, 53% said they would stay with a company for 3-5 years, and 37% said they would stay with a company for 1-2 years. This means that 90% of the Gen Y surveyed said they were not planning to stay with any given employer for more than 5 years. Over 1/3 said they were planning to leave within 24 months.
