Dex Hunter-Torricke: Artificial Intelligence & The Future of Work

Dex Hunter-Torricke is an expert speaker on technology trends and what they mean for individuals and organizations. A unique story teller, Torricke-Barton has a background in speech writing and communications for some of the largest most well-known companies in Silicon Valley. His resume includes writing for Google’s CEO Larry Page and Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt, managing communications for Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg and most recently was Senior Director of Communications for Elon Musk at SpaceX.

Speaking of communications, did you know that when the first telephone was invented it took nearly a century before land lines were commonplace? In comparison, when mobile phones came to market, it only took 7 years to reach 1 billion users worldwide. Today there are over 3.8 billion individuals with smart phones. Hunter-Torricke demonstrates how this type of exponential growth will translate to AI and job growth. He predicts that over the next 25 years more than 40% of today’s jobs will be replaced by artificial intelligence.

Due to the major changes anticipated in job markets, Hunter-Torricke is passionate about communicating how we can develop great talent across organizations when most entry level positions are occupied by AI. From worldwide collaboration to a whole new set of jobs yet to be invented, Hunter-Torricke shares first-hand insight on why every company is in the tech business and how new technologies can present tremendous opportunities for all.

Hunter-Torricke is adept at sharing his expertise on a wide range of topics including customer experience, corporate and social responsibility, future trends, branding and sustainability.
