Dr. Willy Lam is an Adjunct Professor at the History Department and the Center for China Studies, Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the Master of Global Political Economy Program of the same university.

In addition, Lam is a Select Professor of China Studies, Akita International University, Japan. He is also a Senior Fellow at the Jamestown Foundation in Washington DC.

Lam has more than 30 years of experience researching and writing about China. His major interests and expertise include elite Chinese politics, economic and political reform in China, and China’s foreign policy.  He is currently writing a book on the “Xi Jinping Era” for publication in the U.S. in late 2014.

Lam’s views on Chinese developments are regularly sought by media including Reuters, Associated Press, AFP, CNN, BBC, and Bloomberg.
