Vice President of Marketing

About this Position

The Vice President of Marketing is responsible for leading the company’s marketing strategy, team, and growth. This role drives pipeline and revenue growth while also shaping brand positioning, got-to-market strategy, and organizational alignment. The VP of Marketing works in close partnership with sales to generate qualified opportunities, improve conversion, and increase revenue.

The right candidate brings clear thinking, strong creative instincts, and a bias toward action. This role is a key member of the leadership team and works directly with the CEO, COO, and sales leadership to drive growth.

Responsibilities:

Revenue and Pipeline

  • Own marketing-sourced revenue and pipeline generation
  • Build and execute a clear, repeatable lead generation strategy
  • Partner closely with sales leadership to align on targets, lead quality, and conversion
  • Continuously improve the volume and quality of opportunities delivered to sales

 

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and communicate a clear marketing vision aligned with company growth goals
  • Translate company objectives into focused marketing priorities and measurable outcomes
  • Evaluate market opportunities, competitive positioning, and long-term strategies
  • Partner with leadership on company direction, investment decisions, and business planning
  • Build scalable systems and processes that support future growth

Team Leadership

  • Lead a, develop and scale a high-performing marketing organization.
  • Create clarity around priorities, roles, accountability and execution while fostering a culture of ownership, urgency, creativity, and innovation.
  • Use a data-driven approach to decision making and reporting throughout strategy recommendations and execution
  • Move quickly from idea to execution to results

 

Creative and Innovation

  • Raise the level of creative thinking across campaigns and content
  • Push for new ideas, formats, and approaches to stand out in the market
  • Foster a culture of experimentation, learning, and innovation across the marketing organization

 

Data and Systems

  • Own performance tracking across campaigns and channels
  • Ensure CRM and marketing systems support lead generation and sales follow-up
  • Use data to make strategic decisions and adjust quickly


Collaboration

  • Act as a true partner to sales, with shared responsibility for revenue outcomes
  • Create alignment across marketing, sales, and recruitment
  • Work across divisions to align messaging and go-to-market efforts
  • Lead through change and help the organization adapt quickly to new opportunities
  • Manage key vendors and external partners

 

Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years leading marketing teams with direct responsibility for revenue or pipeline
  • Proven ability to generate qualified leads and drive measurable growth
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, CRM systems, and campaign execution
  • Experience managing and developing a multi-functional marketing team
  • Executive level communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and tactical levels

Our team works across high-profile clients, major events, and national campaigns. This role offers the opportunity to shape marketing strategy across multiple business lines while working closely with leadership and sales.

We operate as a collaborative, in-person team in Washington, DC, where people are expected to take ownership, contribute ideas, and execute at a high level. Team members are given real responsibility and the chance to grow quickly.

Compensation includes a competitive salary, incentive opportunities, 401(k), health, dental, and vision insurance, and paid time off.
