Lisa’s experience spans decision-making at the highest levels of the Justice Department and FBI, coordinating crisis response from the Situation Room inside the White House, to advising the nation’s boardrooms. She brings deep strategic, management and operational experience from inside and outside government. As Deputy Attorney General of the United States, she was the COO of the 115,000 person organization and oversaw a $39 billion budget. The nation’s top law enforcement agencies—including the FBI—and the nation’s federal prosecutors reported to her. In this role, she established innovative AI governance and enforcement strategies and spearheaded a pivot in the nation’s approach to combatting cyber threats like ransomware and nation-state cyber attacks.

As Homeland Security and Deputy National Security Advisor to President Obama she advised the President on all aspects of counterterrorism strategy and policy and coordinated the nation’s response to a wide range of security issues, including international and domestic terrorist incidents, cyber threats, pandemics, and natural disasters. Outside of government she has served in private practice and on numerous private sector and non-profit boards focused on national security issues.
