Roger D'Aprix

Roger D’Aprix, vice president with ROI Communication, is an internationally known communication consultant, lecturer and author who has assisted dozens of Fortune 500 companies in developing their communication strategies and redesigning their staff structures and communication training. His long list of clients includes such organizations as Sears, Comcast, Cisco Systems, Lucent Technologies, General Motors, Saturn Corporation, Hewlett-Packard, EDS, GE Capital Services and scores of others. He is generally regarded as one of the leading-edge thinkers in the formulation of communication strategy and practice for contemporary organizations.

In 1978 the International Association of Business Communicators honored him as one of the youngest IABC Fellows ever named. That is the highest honor IABC gives. In 1998 IABC named him ‘one of the most influential thinkers in the communication profession in the last 25 years.

For 15 years he held senior positions with two of the leading human resources consulting companies. He served as vice president and global practice leader for Towers Perrin’s human resource communication practice and as principal and service developer for Mercer Human Resource Consulting. Before that, he was manager of employee communication for Xerox Corporation and held executive communication positions at General Electric and Bell and Howell.

He has written seven books on employee communication, including his best selling Communicating for Change: Connecting the Workplace with the Marketplace published by Jossey-Bass, Inc.

He is also the author of two IABC developmental toolkits for corporate communication professionals. The first is entitled Win Senior Leadership Support and Improve Performance. The second, entitled The Face-to-Face Communication Toolkit: Creating an Engaged Workforce, is a collection of tools designed to help line managers better engage the talents and energies of the people for whom they are responsible. He writes a column for the UK publication Strategic Communication Management for whom he also is a member of its advisory board.
