CREATIVE DESIGN AND VIDEO INTERN

Leading Authorities, Inc. is seeking a creative graphics and video intern to support our marketing department. If you are interested in sharpening your creative multimedia production skills in a real-time marketing environment where you’ll quickly learn a wide range of marketing skills, as well as enhance your design experience by creating engaging content from graphics to videos, then this may be the perfect opportunity for you. This internship is for Spring 2021. We are looking for candidates who have experience creating dynamic graphic and video content and can work virtually during Eastern Standard Time hours (8:30am to 5:00pm). Art majors are encouraged to apply.
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with Director, Marketing Events; Marketing Content Manager; and Senior Vice President of Marketing and Creative Services on assigned projects
  • Assist in the design of marketing materials
  • Create graphics for social media, event materials, and miscellaneous projects
  • Create and edit videos for internal and external use 

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Junior or Senior college student
  • Knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe Pro and Final Cut
  • Flexibility to work at least 3 days a week
  • Positive attitude and dependability
  • Solid attention to detail, creativity, and computer skills

 
Semester long internship will be virtual. Candidate must have a computer.

VIRTUAL EVENT PRODUCER

LAI Live is a leader in producing live and virtual events for corporate, association, and non-profit clients. Our team is currently looking for talented event-minded, detail-oriented, quick-on-their-feet individuals for short-term contract positions to meet high demand. Successful candidates may have the opportunity to extend as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leading client projects from start to finish
  • Leading regularly scheduled meetings with clients 
  • Working with Project Manager to develop production schedules and adhere to schedules
  • Working with Website Managers to develop online plans for shows involving platform development and overseeing their progress with deliverables
  • Working with client to make recommendations for their scheduling and program questions
  • Working with LAI Art Director on creative graphics concepts for shows
  • Developing graphics outlines for main session shows for Art Director and Project Manager to respond to
  • Developing and updating cue sheets for main session programming
  • Lead rehearsals with speakers and other presenters
  • Oversee all moving pieces of the live event
  • Call-the-show for main session programming

IDEAL VIRTUAL EVENT PRODUCER CANDIDATES:

  • Located in the East Coast or Central Time Zone
  • Have experience working closely with clients to design, develop, and execute live events
  • Have experience leading teams through a Project end-to-end
  • Are open communicators and have the ability to work as a team or solo

EVENT PRODUCTION OPERATIONS

LAI Live is a leader in producing live and virtual events for corporate, association, and non-profit clients. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee entire show production schedule to ensure we're not overbooked with staff or vendors
  • Help to remedy scheduling issues with the team for rehearsals, pre-records, breakouts, more
  • Keep all client-facing documents up to date
  • Step in for Project Management and support when needed
  • Handle invoicing of contractors and vendors
  • Work with vendors to produce estimates for proposal needs
  • Make on-going updates with new and relevant information to the proposal
  • Research new possible vendors and service providers to support the ever-changing needs of virtual events

WEB PROJECT MANAGER

SESSION VIDEO PRODUCER & EDITOR

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Trim or edit each session as-needed to prepare for posting on-demand
  • Coach speakers/presenters through audio checks and background adjustments
  • Work with Project Manager/Producer on scheduling full-days of production records
  • Able to meet deadlines, some aggressive
  • Candidate must have their own equipment & set-up for capturing and editing sessions
  • Virtually record speakers and/or panel sessions "live-to-tape," ideally running through a switcher to allow for ISO shots and minimal graphics during the recording

JUNIOR DESIGNER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting Art Director with design concepts for individual projects
  • Taking lead on the build and edits of deliverables for external and internal projects, requiring high levels of attention to detail
  • Working in Apple Keynote, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premier and other design programs required to complete design projects
  • Working with Producer and Production Manager to deliver upon contracted deliverables for each client project

LIVE SHOW PRODUCER

Reports To: Vice President of Production 

We are looking for a self-motivated, seasoned producer with experience in a live event production environment—theatre, television, conferences—and a solid background in event design and technical expertise.

Our top candidate will excel at producing live events and stage productions, be able to develop strong relationships with clients, act as a consultant who shares insights and best practices, respond to RFPs with ease, and remain cool under pressure. This is a DC-based position.

A successful candidate will:

  • Develop and manage client relationships and contracts to ensure delivery of exceptional service
  • Manage the production planning process and necessary assets (production timelines, show flow and scripts, room diagrams, and other support documentation) for live events
  • Develop and add expertise to each client production by creating unique ways to deliver a message or program segment, editing scripts, maintaining cue sheets, and ideating new audience engagement techniques
  • Contribute to the creative process by developing scenic ideas, unique ways to display & design graphics and visual content, theme concepts, storytelling, and more
  • Manage the onsite execution process for internal and external events to include leading a large production team, show-calling, talent rehearsals, labor management, venue logistics, concurrent session management and vendor relations
  • Manage the follow-up process and continued client communications for the contracted event
  • Have a strong understanding of event audio visual equipment, lighting, rigging, scenic and union labor requirements
  • Capture event success stories for Marketing purposes
  • Be proficient in MS word, Excel, Adobe PhotoShop, internet file sharing and possibly have the ability to work in CAD, Meeting Matrix, Google Sketch to produce drawings and room diagrams
  • Photography, Scriptwriting, scenic render experience a plus

This candidate should also have…   

  • At least four (4) years of relevant work experience, in a fast-paced production, entertainment, and/or event environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to juggle multiple projects successfully while adhering to stressful situations and tight deadlines
  • Be able to work as an individual and in a collaborative team environment
  • The ability to travel up to 30% of the time, which includes long hours and an irregular schedule
  • Enthusiasm for the business and want to work with a team of individuals who love what they do (ability to love nachos is a plus)
