Director of Talent Recruitment

As a Director of Talent Recruitment, you will play a critical role in finding and recruiting speaking talent to Leading Authorities.

As one of the nation’s most prominent speakers’ bureaus, Leading Authorities, Inc. represents leaders in politics, business, media, and pop culture, including Katie Ledecky, Paul Ryan, Stanley McChrystal, Nicolle Wallace, Chuck Todd, Jim VandeHei, Mike Allen, and Margaret Brennan, among others. In this position you will support the CEO, and Sales team in their efforts to find and recruit new speakers to Leading Authorities, by researching and presenting new ideas, making connections, and doing initial outreach to potential speakers. The ideal candidate is a voracious reader who considers the latest business books must reads, a self-starter, driven, detail-oriented, with a strong interest in politics, media, and current events.

As an Event Coordinator your role is to create a positive customer experience by liaising with clients and talent to expertly coordinate logistics.  Logistics responsibilities include contract review, talent management and support, booking travel, coordinating and attending conference calls and creating detailed accurate itineraries for talent and clients.

Other responsibilities include covering company phone lines approximately two hours weekly, and performing other projects as assigned.


  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in communications, marketing, events, hospitality or related discipline
  • At least 2 years professional work experience in an office environment,
  • The ability to work under tight deadlines and under pressure
  • SUPERB organizational and teamwork skills
  • A strong sense of responsibility
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including Word and Excel (experience with CRM is preferred)
  • Experience working with events, event management or travel
  • Fast problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to change
  • The ability and willingness to be on-call during nights and weekends for travel related emergencies

Additionally, in our line of work, it is very important that candidates be extremely detail-oriented as well as discrete and professional.


Leading Authorities’ compensation includes a base salary, quarterly bonuses and monthly commissions on speaker book sales.  Additional compensation includes 401(K) plan and profit sharing, paid vacation and holidays, health/dental/vision insurance, life and disability insurance. Work hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm and employee will need to perform occasional overtime.

This position is based in our Washington, DC headquarters. Our offices are conveniently located in downtown Washington, DC, close to the Farragut North and West Metro Stations. Leading Authorities’, a world-class lecture agency, video agency, and event production company, is searching for a digital/web marketer. This position will support the online marketing activities of Leading Authorities with the aim of driving leads to our sales force. This position will focus on regularly updating our three websites with content and compiling reports on the websites’ progress.

At Leading Authorities, you will join a team of professional marketers who work together to drive leads and opportunities for our sales force to help Fortune 1000 companies and top associations plan and execute their events.

As the Web Marketing Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing Leading Authorities’ Web presence. This includes:
    • Daily updates and content generation.
    • Communicating with and implementing strategies developed in concert with our SEO consultant.
  • Managing analytic reports and materials to support the marketing and sales staff.
    • Maintaining basic materials on our talent.
    • Assisting at live events to promote our talent.
    • Developing analytics on LAI’s key online lead drivers.
    • Contributing to weekly marketing lead generation meetings.
  • Creating content and posting to our social media outlets.
    • Driving engagement and conversations with followers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include:

  • Related bachelor’s degree.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in marketing, web management, or other related field is preferred.
  • HTML, CMS, or other web coding/development expertise a plus but not required.
  • A great attitude and work ethic.

Compensation for this position will be commensurate with experience.
