Contributing to the Community

In addition to being a leading business communications firm, Leading Authorities is proud to contribute to the community in many exciting ways. Please see below for recent projects that Leading Authorities has been involved in:

Bright Beginnings Logo
Each year, in the spirit of the holiday season, Leading Authorities makes a donation to the Bright Beginnings child development center in Washington, DC.

For several years, the Leading Authorities staff has contributed time and energy to this organization. This effort is headed by Lucinda DeCastro, Leading Authorities director of events. She regularly updates our team about the needs at Bright Beginnngs and our staff responds with donations of time, money, and supplies.
See what we did this year!

Around the holidays. Leading Authorities regularly purchases new clothes, toys, and a hearty holiday meal for more than 100 homeless infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

Leading Authorities Staff at SOME Gala
Leading Authorities supports SOME (So Others May Eat), an interfaith, community-based organization in the District of Columbia that offers a comprehensive approach to caring for the homeless and extremely poor citizens of our city, by contributing production services, speakers and entertainment services.

Our executive vice president, Rainey Foster, sits on the advisory board. She and her family were recently honored as SOME's Humanitarians of the Year.

Leading Authorities' was proud to support Rainey with a fund-raising effort and in the production of several videos to aid in SOME's outreach efforts.

Catalogue for Philanthropy Promotional Video

Leading Authorities is a proud sponsor of the Catalogue for Philanthropy. In an effort to help raise awareness and promote a philanthropic dialogue, Leading Authorities' production house created a promotional video for the organization. The video will be used to tell the organization’s story and stimulate corporate sponsorship throughout the DC community.

Light the Night Walk

For many years Leading Authorities has been an active participant in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night Walk. Over the last six years, Leading Authorities has raised thousands of dollars in support of the organization’s mission to find therapies and cures for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

Making Connections to Great Causes

Leading Authorities is in contact with many great people and organizations everyday. Sometimes, we are able to connect our clients to do good. One of the speakers LAI is pleased to represent is Jim Donald, the former CEO of Starbucks.

When Rainey Foster, LAI partner and Executive Vice President, mentioned that a friend stationed in Afghanistan was missing his favorite coffee, Jim jumped into action. 13 cases of Starbucks Via soon arrived at Bagram Air Base for the troops.

Thanks Jim!

Women On the World Alzheimer’s and Autism Research Donations

Leading Authorities hosted the 5th annual Women on the World symposium at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. In appreciation of moderator Meryl Comer’s participation in the event and in recognition of her continued dedication to Alzheimer’s research, Leading Authorities contributed $10,000 to help fund the National Alzheimer’s Association’s research efforts. Leading Authorities also presented bestselling author and Holocaust survivor Gerda Weissmann Klein, with a donation for the Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center a nonprofit, community-based organization in Phoenix, Arizona, dedicated to research, education and resources for individuals with autism spectrum disorders and their families.
