Mitch Joel on Innovative Business Strategies
Last week, we had the chance to see Mitch Joel speak once again. He previewed his new talk on innovative business strategies which is fantastic.
His new speech focuses on taking advantage of disruption and change, including the new channels we use to talk to customers. He dove into how business transformation needs to happen internally, and says the biggest opportunities come from “micro transactions,” or the little interactions your customers have with you—like signing up for a newsletter or “liking” you on Facebook.
Mitch’s material is full of useful advice you can act on immediately, and he uses fun, memorable examples that stick with you when you’re back at work. For example, he told us about how Oreo had huge success with a campaign they ran that targeted their Facebook followers offering a customized bag. It sounds like a crazy idea to think someone would pay $15 for a bag of Oreos, but it worked so well that they ran the campaign a second year and plan to expand it in the future.
