About Jeff Greene
Download ProfileJeff Greene was there as cybersecurity grew from a niche issue into one of our biggest national and economic security challenges. He served in the White House responding to the Russian threat to US critical infrastructure before the 2022 invasion of Ukraine, and he led the Cybersecurity Division in the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency in 2024 when it discovered and responded to the Chinese “Salt Typhoon” compromise of the nation’s largest wireless networks. With almost 20 years as a cyber and national security executive in both the public and private sectors, he is an engaging storyteller who brings a mix of personal stories and real-world examples to any setting.
Jeff’s experience extends beyond cyber operations and policy – he has lived public/private partnership from all sides, with the scars to show for it. A lawyer by training, he was a litigator for nine years before joining the Senate’s investigation into the botched federal response to Hurricane Katrina. In the years after that, he served in senior roles on the Homeland Security Committees in both the House and the Senate, as Vice President of Global Policy and Partnerships in a Fortune 300 cybersecurity company, and as the Director of the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (part of the National Institute of Standards and Technology).
He served on the National Security Council at the start of the Biden Administration as the Chief for Cyber Response & Policy, and in 2024 was appointed as CISA’s Executive Assistant Director for Cybersecurity. Jeff is now a Distinguished Fellow with the Aspen Institute’s Cybersecurity Program and is a sought-after speaker, advisor, and mentor. He has taught cybersecurity and national security policy at Boston University and the University of Maryland School of Law. Jeff regularly engages in high-profile dialogues with global leaders, aimed at bringing all sides together to meet the next wave of cybersecurity challenges with innovation and collaboration.
