About Lauren Wittenberg Weiner
Download ProfileLauren Wittenberg Weiner is a mission-driven entrepreneur who redefined what success looks like inside one of the most male-dominated industries in the U.S.—without breaking the rules to do it.
After leaving her job at the White House and struggling to find employment as a military spouse stationed overseas, Lauren founded WWC Global. What started to accommodate part-time consulting work quickly grew into one of the largest privately-held, woman-owned government contracting firms in the country. She led the company to win a record-breaking $200 million contract with U.S. Special Operations Command.
Over nearly two decades, Lauren scaled WWC Global to $100 million in annual revenue before selling the company in 2022. Along the way, she built a mission-driven organization rooted in excellence, values-based leadership, and a supportive and inclusive culture focused on Putting Good Government into Practice.
Her book, Unruly: Deconstruct the Rules, Defy the Norms, and Define Your Success, is a call to action for anyone tired of chasing someone else’s definition of achievement. It’s part memoir, part guidebook, part toolkit—a framework for how to upend the status quo from within and carve your own path without losing your values or burning out.
Lauren’s story and expertise resonates across industries—from boardrooms to government agencies to advocacy circles to individuals looking to pivot in their lives. She speaks on leading in heavily regulated industries, navigating complex life phases (especially as part of the “Panini Generation”), and succeeding on your own terms in systems that weren’t
necessarily built for you. She also provides thought leadership on government contracting, small business growth, M&A, public policy and national security, and entrepreneurship.
Lauren holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and a PhD in psychology from Dartmouth College. She is the co-founder of In Gear Career (now part of the U.S. Chamber’s Hiring Our Heroes program) and Homefront Rising, which trained military spouses to engage in political and civic leadership. She lives in Tampa Bay with her family, serves on multiple nonprofit boards, cares for her aging parents, and is a loud and proud hockey mom.

Lauren Wittenberg Weiner challenges audiences to redefine what success looks like—without needing to burn everything down to get there. Drawing from her own journey building one of the largest woman-owned federal contracting firms in the country, Lauren shares how mastering the rules (without ever breaking them) can unlock unconventional growth, authentic leadership, and real power—especially in systems not built for you.
Whether you’re navigating a pivot, building something new, or just trying to hold everything together with all of life’s challenges, Lauren’s talk is a rallying cry for carving your own path with intention. The talk can easily be tailored for different audiences: entrepreneurs, advocates and changemakers, professionals at various points in their careers, students (and particularly female athletes), people facing life pivots and issues with balance, and anyone facing high-stakes life or career decisions.
Entrepreneurship in Real Life: The Entrepreneur’s Playbook from Start-Up to Sale
Lauren never planned to be a founder—she simply couldn’t find a job as a military spouse overseas. In this refreshingly honest session, she breaks down how she built a multi-million-dollar firm from scratch, scaled without outside capital, and sold it—all while challenging the assumptions about what leadership is supposed to look like and what entrepreneurs are supposed to care about. Ideal for emerging entrepreneurs, women in business, and non-traditional leaders.
Fireside Chats, Workshops, Roundtables or Panel Discussions

- Public policy and national security
- Work/Life equilibrium and the Panini Generation pressures
- Effective career and life pivots (particularly for young professionals/students, military veterans, and mid-career rebalancing and reinvention)
