Chris LaCivita is a seasoned republican strategist specializing in campaign management, strategic planning, and message development for political and public affairs campaigns. Most recently, LaCivita served as the Co-Campaign Manager for Donald Trump for President and the Chief of Staff for the Republican National Committee, playing a pivotal role in President Trump’s 2024 election victory.

As co-campaign manager of Trump’s campaign, LaCivita was recognized by Bloomberg for bringing “discipline and professionalism” to the campaign. His ability to navigate unprecedented challenges—including legal battles, security threats, and a shifting political landscape—was highlighted by Politico, which credited him with overseeing a campaign that “prevailed through indictments, convictions, a pair of assassination attempts, and over two Democratic standard-bearers.” Known for his sharp tactical acumen, LaCivita has also been described by PBS News as “a shrewd and ruthless operative who really understands how to target an opponent's weaknesses.” He is exclusively represented by Leading Authorities speakers bureau

With over 30 years of experience in politics, Chris LaCivita has advised candidates at every level, including presidential, U.S. Senate, gubernatorial, U.S. House, and state legislative races. His expertise also extends to advising Fortune 100 companies, trade associations, third-party organizations, and issue advocacy groups.

Recognized as a leading GOP strategist, LaCivita has played a key role in some of the nation’s most competitive Senate and House races, including those of Senators Pat Roberts and Ron Johnson.

In addition to his role as Chief of Staff for the Republican National Committee, he has served as a senior consultant to the organization and played a key leadership role in the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio, where he was responsible for the Rules Committee and floor operations.

LaCivita has twice served as the National Political Director for the National Republican Senatorial Committee – In the historic 2002 election cycle under former U.S. Senator Bill Frist (R-TN) and again in 2010 for Senator John Cornyn (R-TX).

LaCivita is also known for advising and running issue advocacy efforts nationwide. In the 2004 Presidential campaign, LaCivita served as chief strategist for Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, and co-producer of their award-winning TV ads against John Kerry. In 2008 he founded American Issues Project, a national third-party group that was engaged in efforts against then-candidate Barack Obama, and he was the founder and chief strategist for Preserve America, a national SuperPAC that raised and spent over $100 million attacking Joe Biden’s candidacy for president in key battleground states.

In the 2000 election cycle, he was the campaign manager of George Allen’s successful bid for the United States Senate. The Allen campaign unseated a 12-year incumbent and was the only successful Republican U.S. challenger race in the country that year. In late 2000, it was honored by PR WEEK magazine as the best-managed campaign in the country, besting even Hillary Clinton’s first campaign for the US Senate.

Prior to leading the Allen campaign, LaCivita was Executive Director of the Republican Party of Virginia, where for the first time since Reconstruction, the GOP successfully captured control of both the Virginia State House and State Senate.

LaCivita served as Political Director for former Governor George Allen, as well as Assistant Secretary of Administration, a cabinet post in which he had oversight of five state agencies. LaCivita also worked on George Allen’s campaign for Governor in 1993 and Congress in 1991.

Before entering politics, LaCivita served in the United States Marine Corps achieving the rank of Sergeant, seeing action in the first Gulf War, decorated twice, including a Purple Heart for wounds received in action.

A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, he is married with two grown children.
