For years, Miguel Cervantes was the actor behind the most visible role in the world of the performing arts. Following his standout performances as Alexander Hamilton in the Chicago run of Hamilton: An American Musical, he was hand-picked by the show’s creator and original Alexander Hamilton actor Lin-Manuel Miranda to play the role of the title character in the Broadway run of the universally beloved production in 2020. He would stay in the role until 2024. Cervantes’ ascent to the stratosphere of theatrical excellence embodies the essence of creativity, resilience, and unwavering dedication to one’s purpose. He overcame setbacks and unthinkable personal tragedy to capture imaginations with his spellbinding portrayal of Alexander Hamilton and cement his legacy as one of the great performers of our time. He taps into the magic of story and performance to inspire audiences to write their own unique script to success.

Exclusively represented by Leading Authorities speakers bureau, Cervantes finds the perfect balance between funny, candid, and inspiring as he sheds light on the creative process and innovative thinking, and the power of supporting the missions that matter to you. Cervantes breaks down the theatrical fourth wall to lead an immersive session in which groups laugh, reflect, and experience emotions together. In a performance unlike any other, he brings the spirit of Hamilton to events — playing many of the show-stopping tunes from the musical, while weaving in entertaining stories from his experiences on stage and his life behind the scenes. He opens up to the audience about his daughter’s diagnosis with a rare epileptic disorder and losing her just days before the call for his big break to return to Broadway, and how he channeled that heartache into his purpose and life’s work. Cervantes uses his platform to empower audiences to embrace the lead role in their lives, turn challenges into triumphs, and find the flame within that will guide them on the path to accomplishing the incredible in their next act.

The Chicago Tribune praised his “coiled intensity” as Alexander Hamilton and named him Chicagoan of the Year in theater in 2019 for his mastery of the role. Prior to Hamilton, Cervantes made headlines for his critically acclaimed performance in Broadway’s American Idiot musical based on the chart-topping Green Day album, as well as in the box-office hit If/Then. Throughout his career, he has been seen in countless productions all over the country, from his hometown of Dallas to Boston — where he attended Emerson College.

All throughout and continuing after their young daughter’s battle with epilepsy, Cervantes and his wife Kelly became active in the Chicago nonprofit CURE Epilepsy, where Kelly serves on the board and as the organization’s chair. In addition to his philanthropic work, Miguel is an avid golfer and entrepreneur. He and Hamilton co-star Andrew Call founded the all-in-one golf accessory company Shu Caddy. Currently, Miguel is the founder, owner, and operator of Dingers, a baseball batting cage facility near his home in New Jersey.

His remarkable journey serves as a testament to the transformative power of art and reminds us of the boundless potential that lies within each of us to create, inspire, and change the world.
