Yasmin Vossoughian

Yasmin Vossoughian is an NBC News National correspondent, anchor and hosts NBC News’ daily podcast taking a deep dive into the biggest stories of the day. She previously hosted MSNBC’s “Yasmin Vossoughian Reports.”

Vossoughian delivers sharp reporting and analysis from years of international journalism taking a no-nonsense look at the day’s important stories and focusing on solution-based conversations. She most recently covered the Israel-Gaza war, spending time in the West Bank and Israel interviewing Palestinian refugees along with Israeli government officials, rescued hostages and covering the ongoing turmoil in the region. She also provided extensive coverage of the Donald Trump hush money trial, the attack on the Capitol on January 6, the Uvalde school shooting in Texas, and a mass shooting in Buffalo, NY. She covered the 2016, 2020 and 2024 presidential elections and interviewed then candidate Biden along with many notable lawmakers.

Prior to joining MSNBC, she was an anchor and producer for The Daily Share on CNN Headline news and correspondent for CNN along with a world news program on AOL News. Earlier, Vossoughian served as a reporter for the local New York City cable news channel NY1. Her accomplishments include on-site coverage of Hurricane Sandy’s devastation and as one of the first reporting teams to broadcast from the severely hit borough of Staten Island.

Vossoughian’ s entry into journalism was as a world news correspondent at the Gallup World Poll. In that role, she interviewed leaders from across the globe including Madeleine Albright in Qatar, Newt Gingrich in Washington D.C., young West African victims of HIV/AIDS and malaria, and Fatah youth in the West Bank.

In 2005 she became a correspondent for Al Gore’s newly launched Current TV and the following year received a Cine Golden Eagle Award for her work in Iran.

Vossoughian earned an Emmy Award for Outstanding Live Breaking News Coverage as part of her work on NBC News Specials’ coverage of the January 6 Attack on the Capitol. Her accolades also include a GLAAD Award for Outstanding Live TV Journalism – Segment or Special, for her work on “Yasmin Vossoughian Reports,” along with a “Front Page” award from “The Newswomen’s Club of New York,” for her piece covering ongoing gun violence in Philadelphia in the black and brown community. A graduate of Occidental College in Los Angeles with an Advanced Bachelor of Arts degree, Vossoughian skills include fluency in French and Farsi.
