Patrick Toomey

Widely regarded as Congress’ preeminent thought leader on the financial services industry and sought-after authority on economic and tax policy, financial regulation, and financial issues, Pat Toomey served in the United States Senate from 2011 to 2023, where he was also a senior member of the Senate Banking and Finance Committees. Known for successfully leading the 2017 tax reform effort resulting in the enactment of the most extensive reform in over 30 years—the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act—Toomey, as labeled by the Philadelphia Inquirer, is “a leading voice on money matters”.

Toomey is uniquely positioned to deliver his practical experience and expertise on politics and elections, government issues, economic policy, including tax policy, trade policy, and federal reserve policy, financial services regulation, cryptocurrency, and presidential impeachment.  He seamlessly blends these topics, taking a nonpartisan approach in breaking down the pressing matters shaping society and impacting industry on a national level and from a global perspective. In 2011, Toomey was elected to the U.S. Senate, where he served for 12 years. From 2021-2023, he served on the Senate Committee on Banking, as the senior-most Republican, where he helped recruit and confirm many highly qualified nominees to the nation’s most powerful regulatory bodies. He focused on restoring disciplined monetary policy post-Covid—overseeing all Federal financial regulators and developed a blueprint for the regulation of stablecoins. Following two terms, Toomey did not seek re-election and retired from the Senate in 2023.

Toomey is a 1984 graduate of Harvard University, and prior to serving on the Senate, he served in the U.S. House of Representatives for six years where he pledged to limit himself to three terms and did not seek re-election to the House in 2004. Toomey has been a frequent guest on CNBC, NBC, Bloomberg, FOX, and FOX Business, and his editorials have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and The Philadelphia Inquirer, among many other publications.

In addition to public service, Toomey has also worked in the financial services industry, trading and managing a portfolio of fixed income derivatives. He served as president of the Club for Growth and owned and operated a small restaurant chain in Lehigh Valley, PA with his brothers.
