With more than a decade working at the heart of the technology industry, Dex Hunter-Torricke has managed communications for some of the most-influential and admired Silicon Valley leaders and corporations of our day. In his daily work, Dex plays a critical role in writing the next chapter on science, tech, the economy, and society across the globe, and spearheads efforts to bring the stories of how the world is being moved forward to light. From 2012-2016, he led the executive communications team at Facebook and served as personal speechwriter for Mark Zuckerberg. He then went on to join SpaceX as senior director of communications. He later served as the VP Global Communications & Public Engagement for the Oversight Board for Meta, the independent body that makes decisions on Facebook and Instagram’s most challenging content issues. Dex takes audiences into Facebook’s boardroom, Musk’s open-concept cubicle, the famed Googleplex, and finally to the UN itself to share lessons on what it takes in today’s environment to build highly effective internal teams, how to use storytelling in modern communications, and what to make of the steady transition from local to global that’s unfolded over the past decade.

Her research is trusted by over 200 organisations, including the likes of Microsoft, the United Nations, Salesforce, Lenovo and the UK Government’s digital division. Shivvy also has strong roots in investigative broadcasting. A former contributor to CNN Asia and Reuters for six years, she has produced over 400+ hours of programming. She has presented a two-part documentary for Discovery Channel, hosted interview series NextTech Insider and fronted live debate broadcasts Ringside Sessions for Ericsson. She also previously created two streaming video series’ on future innovations and the people behind them that drew a 14 million-strong audience during its five year run.

An entrepreneur by heart, a designer and biologist by training, and a maker for life, Cecilia is known internationally as an innovation activist in empowering communities and organizations with exponential technologies. She is founder of several companies such as MOB, Makers of Barcelona, the largest co-working community in Barcelona, and FabCafe, digital fabrication lab meets coffee shop. She is currently Singularity University Barcelona Chapter Ambassador and a recent fellow of SU at NASA Research Center at Ames. Cecilia received her Master as an architect at Harvard University as well as biology from Emory University. Cecilia is an adjunct professor at Parsons New School, a product strategy expert at Google Developers Group and a mentor at Google Launchpad and Harvard Innovation Lab.
